Select an account type
Individual Account
For a single person investing in their own name. The most common account type for salary earners, professionals, entrepreneurs, and first-time investors. You will need your BVN, a valid government ID, a utility bill dated within the last three months, your bank account details, and a passport photograph.
Joint Account
For two or more people investing together — spouses building family wealth, business partners pooling resources, or siblings managing inherited portfolios. All signatories provide full KYC documentation. You choose whether mandates require one or all signatures.
Corporate / Institutional Account
For registered companies, partnerships, estates, NGOs, clubs, and associations. You will need your CAC registration documents, Memorandum and Articles of Association, board resolution, and KYC documentation for all authorised signatories.
Minor Account
The account is held in the minor's name, with all transactions executed by the parent or guardian as custodian. When the minor turns 18, the account converts to a standard individual account, and the young adult takes full control of holdings that have had years to grow.
Diaspora Investor Account
For Nigerians living abroad and foreign nationals investing in Nigeria. Same regulatory framework as a resident account, plus the additional documentation required to receive funds from overseas and obtain a Certificate of Capital Importation.
Estate Account Opening
This account is for administering investments belonging to a deceased person’s estate. All administrators/executors must complete KYC, and probate documentation must be verified before activation.

What Documents Do I Need to Open a Minor Account?
A minor account is held in the child’s name with a parent or legal guardian acting as custodian. Per CSCS and SEC requirements:
- Duly completed and executed account opening form, signed by the parent or legal guardian as custodian
- Birth certificate or National Identity slip of the minor
- Two passport photographs of the minor
- Custodian’s valid means of identification — Passport, Driver’s Licence, NIN slip, or Permanent Voter’s Card
- Custodian’s Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Custodian’s utility bill (within the last three months)
- Two passport photographs of the custodian
- Custodian’s bank account details — proceeds and dividends are paid into the custodian’s account until the minor turns 18
- Letter of consent from the parent/guardian acknowledging custodial responsibilities (template provided)
When the minor reaches 18 years of age, the account is converted to a standard individual account in their name. The young adult provides their own BVN, bank account details, and signature mandate at that point, and full control transfers from the custodian to the account holder.
What Documents Do I Need to Open a Diaspora Investor Account?
Diaspora investors meet the same KYC standards as resident Nigerians, plus a small set of additional requirements that confirm overseas residency and enable cross-border funding.
- Duly completed and executed the account opening form
- Valid international passport (mandatory — other ID types not accepted for diaspora accounts)
- Two passport photographs (front-facing, plain background)
- Proof of overseas address — utility bill, bank statement, or tenancy agreement issued within the last three months from your country of residence
- Valid residence permit, visa, or proof of legal residency in your country of residence
- Bank Verification Number (BVN) — required even if you no longer live in Nigeria. If you do not have one, we will guide you through the remote enrolment process
- Source of funds documentation — employment letter, recent bank statements, or business income documentation
- Bank account details — either a Nigerian domiciliary account in your name, or your overseas account from which you will fund
- Reference letter from your overseas bank (where applicable for institutional or large-balance accounts)
- Two References
When you fund the account from abroad, request a Certificate of Capital Importation (CCI) from the receiving Nigerian bank within 24 hours of the transfer. The CCI is essential for the repatriation of investment proceeds at the official exchange rate. Without it, repatriation becomes legally complicated. We provide step-by-step guidance for every diaspora client at the funding stage.
